Step One - Discovering Christian Community
Step Two - Developing Spiritual Growth
The purpose of Step Two can be found in Colossians 4:12b “…That you may become mature Christians and may fulfill God’s will for you” and Ephesians 4:14-15, “We are not meant to remain as children… but to grow up in every way like Christ…” This class will help you focus on five basic habits that Christians use to develop in their movement towards spiritual growth. This class will help you better understand and implement these five habits: Time with God, Time in the Bible, Time in Prayer, Time for Serving, and Time with God’s Family.
Step Three - Determining our S.H.A.P.E. for Ministry
The purpose of this class is summed up in Ephesians 4:11-12 (God) has given…pastors and teachers to prepare God’s people for works of ministry, so the body of Christ may be built up. Dave Neidhardt will prepare you for the work of ministry at SCC. The foundation of this class is that each of us is uniquely gifted for ministry in the church. You will look at the Five Personal Factors (spiritual gifts, heart passion, ability, personality, experiences) that have combined to shape the “real” you. The ministry for which God has designed you will become crystal clear.
Step Four - Discerning Our Life Journey
Exploring and responding to God’s work in our lives is what helps us find our calling and contribution. Rev. Rick Dietzman leads Step Four, a personal integrative exercise which will enable you to look at the milestones in your life and gain insights by utilizing a life timeline technique he learned in a leadership class at Fuller Seminary. Participants must have completed Step Three – Determining Our S.H.A.P.E. for Ministry and must be available to attend all three sessions in this series.
