The office of Deacon is set forth in the Bible and the Book of Order of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church as one of sympathy, witness and service after the example of Jesus Christ. It is the duty of deacons to minister to those in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress.
Sequim Community Church members and regular attenders are assigned to an individual deacon’s parish. A parish is one of twenty neighborhoods in the Sequim area. Please contact the church office if you would like to connect with the deacon of your region anytime throughout the year should you need care or assistance.
Deacon areas of ministry are: Communion, Deacon Fund, Home Assistance, Home Bound, Meal Ministry, Memorials, Nominating, Prayer Chain, Secretary, Transportation and Elder Liaison.
The Stephen Ministers are a group of specially trained people who provide one-to-one Christian care to hurting people in and around our congregation. If you’re experiencing emotional pain and need someone to walk with you through a difficult time in your life contact the church office and we’ll put you in touch with a caring Stephen minister.
