DO YOU HAVE A DESIRE TO CONNECT WITH GOD
OUR CHURCH AND YOUR PURPOSE?

“Restoring Rhythms” is a 10-week group interaction where we engage with seven key practices or rhythms of the Christian life: Daily Devotion, Prayer, Freedom from Strongholds, Serving the Community, Sacrificial Generosity, Sharing your Story, and Celebration. Small groups meet together weekly to talk about what God has been showing them as they go through the week’s readings, journal entries, and prayer.

IT’S NOT ANOTHER BIBLE STUDY

The Rooted experience, which we first did as a whole church in 2020 with over 70% participating, has been instrumental in developing fully devoted followers of Jesus. Over 350 people at SCC have now experienced Rooted, so we’ve created a customized sequel called Restoring Rhythms with a ten week message and small group series (beginning January 16th) that will revisit the topics of Rooted but with new devotions and a fresh angle each Sunday.

Groups began in mid January. There’s still time to join one if you sign up below. Click here for the schedule of topics and activities. If you would like to go through the workbook devotions by yourself or with a friend or family member, you can pick one up in either building or the church office. They are free.

Whether you’ve been a Christian for a long time or you’re new to faith in Christ, Restoring Rhythms has the potential to have a greater impact on your spiritual growth than anything else you do this coming year.

Sign up today and we’ll help connect you with a ten week Restoring Rhythms group.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Rooted and how is it different than Restoring Rhythms?

Rooted is a 10 week discipleship experience that connects people to God, the church, and their purpose. The format originated from a church in Africa, then was adapted by an international team of authors at Mariners church in California. During the past five years it’s been used in over 500 churches in the United States and internationally.  See www.experiencerooted.com  for more on how Rooted is affecting lives.

The Restoring Rhythms workbook is a custom sequel using the same format. It was created by our Sequim Community Church pastors to use as an All Church Experience in 2022. It refers back to the original Rooted book, and also launches out utilizing new daily devotions to explore the topics in a fresh way.

What Should I Expect if I Attend?

A group of people just like you committed to encouraging each other through this discipleship journey. You will meet as a group weekly for 10 weeks, discussing that week’s daily encounters and growing through discipleship experiences. There will also be several church-wide activities.

Is There Homework?

Restoring Rhythms includes a free workbook and asks participants to engage in a 15-20-minute Bible reading, devotion, and response 5 days a week. It’s an accessible and meaningful way to grow during the experience!

How Do I Get My Materials?

Restoring Rhythms workbooks will be distributed at the kick-offs and through existing small groups. They are printed in house and are free. If you are new to Rooted you can also purchase a Rooted book for $15, or $25 per couple from the office or get it from your group facilitator.

You won’t find Rooted books on Amazon or ChristianBook.com since they are self published. If you want to look at a Rooted book or the Restoring Rhythms workbook (available in early January), just come by the church office.

What if neither of the kick-off time slots work for my schedule?

Most of the groups we form on the Wednesday afternoon or Thursday evening will continue meeting at those times on the church campus for the 10 weeks. But there are also going to be over 20 other Restoring Rhythms groups which will meet at various times and places. (Including some virtually online) If you have special circumstances contact the church office and we’ll work on helping you find the right group.

If the Omicron surge is proving disruptive at the time of our launch, we will have Zoom options available to get us through the first couple of weeks. So don’t hesitate to sign up if you have any concern about that.

What if I'm not able to attend every session?

The church wide Restoring Rhythms we will run this January will be something very special in the life of our church – Probably never repeated in the same way again. It highly benefits the group if everyone is present and participating fully.  If you are going to have to miss more than a couple of the weeks due to travel or other commitments, then you may want to consider being part of a group that meets virtually or wait for a smaller version of Rooted which we will likely run later in the year after our Spring Basic Beliefs course.
